Karan Johar opens about a filmmaker’s ‘tremendous’ power and responsibility
Karan Johar has recently opened up about Bollywood movies and a filmmaker’s power and responsibility. During the event, Johar noted that one movie cannot change societal perceptions overnight. However, he believes that cinema brings a change in society over a period of time.
He also opened up about “harmful” movies that are being made in Bollywood. “There have been films that continue to be harmful, but I hope those filmmakers realize with time how important the platform they have is,” Johar noted. He urged filmmakers to realize how important their voices are.
Johar also gushed about movies that speak of women’s influence and strength. “I believe so many films that talk about women empowerment are finally hitting home today. Nothing happens overnight,” he added.
On the work front, Karan Johar has announced the release date for his upcoming project Mr & Mrs. Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao.
