- The definitions of, and differences between, diversity, equity, and inclusion;
- Various types of diversity, from gender to race/ethnicity to disability status; and
- How to think about equality vs. equity, and why that matters.
The course also expands people’s understanding of the benefits of DEI, from the moral to the business case. Activities and reflection prompts nudge learners to think about how these concepts apply to their work and lives, and help them identify why DEI is important to them.
The course not only serves as a great foundation for companies starting their Reach learning journeys, It also can be easily embedded into onboarding processes so any new employees will have the same understanding of DEI as their tenured colleagues and see that their organization is committed to DEI. Affirming that dedication to DEI is particularly important in today’s climate, and our data show that after taking a Reach course, 88% of learners felt more confident in their employer’s commitment to DEI.
